US-based National Bureau of Economic Research's new study has found that children born to good-looking parents tend to earn more money than those from families with average looks.

The study, titled "The Economic Impact of Heritable Physical Traits: Hot Parents, Rich Kid?", looked at families in the United States, China, and among billionaires worldwide. Researchers examined data about how attractive parents and their children were, as well as how much money the children made as adults.

Instead of using complicated measurements like facial symmetry, the study simply asked other people to rate how attractive the parents and children were. The results were surprising: for every standard deviation above the average looks of their parents, a child's yearly earnings increased by over $2,300.
so, good-looking parents often have more money to give to their children."

Economist Daniel Hamermesh, who worked on the report, said that being good-looking can help people make more money throughout their lives. He said, "If your parents are good-looking, it's likely that you are too, and that can help you do well in life. Also, good-looking parents often have more money to give to their children."

Hamermesh has been studying the connection between success and attractiveness for over 10 years. He consistently found that good-looking people are more likely to find jobs and earn higher salaries compared to those who are not as attractive. He believes that people don't realize how much looks can affect someone's chances of success.

Hamermesh also said that the findings of the study are sad because they show that good looks can lead to discrimination, just like other factors such as race or gender. However, he hopes that by making people aware of this bias, they will be less likely to discriminate against others based on their appearance.
